Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has signed an agreement with Microsoft Egypt to train 100,000 people in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. The goal is to help Egypt reach its AI goals from 2025 to 2030.

The training will focus on young people and government workers. It will teach them how to use AI in a smart and responsible way. The program will include lessons, hands-on training, and learning materials created by Microsoft.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister Raafat Hindi and Microsoft Egypt’s General Manager Mirna Arif. Egypt’s Minister Amr Talaat said this deal builds on a strong relationship with Microsoft and supports the country’s plan to grow its digital economy using AI.

The plan is part of Egypt’s National AI Strategy. It focuses on four main areas:

  • Good data management
  • Strong digital systems
  • Fair rules and laws
  • Training people for the future

Talaat said working with Microsoft helps Egypt grow local talent and follow best practices from around the world. The partnership also includes advice and support to help government offices use AI to improve services and work more efficiently.

Another part of the plan is to talk with experts about how to create good rules for using AI, and to share knowledge with other countries.

Microsoft leader Samer Abu Latif said the company is proud to help Egypt use new technologies in a responsible way. The agreement is an important step to help Egypt become a leader in AI and the digital world.

Hoda Baraka, advisor to the Minister, said this partnership will help prepare people for the future and may even expand to help other African countries.

Mirna Arif from Microsoft Egypt said: “We’re proud to help train 100,000 people. This will make Egypt’s digital workforce stronger and support the responsible use of AI. It’s a big step toward building a smarter and more digital economy.”
