Elon Musk has announced that his AI company, xAI, will soon launch a game studio to make better video games.
He shared this news on X (formerly Twitter), saying that game quality has dropped because big companies now control the industry.
Musk’s post was a reply to Billy Markus, the creator of Dogecoin, who complained about how game developers and journalists have become too focused on certain ideas. Markus pointed out that gamers have always been against greed and manipulation.
In addition to the game studio, xAI is also working on a new app, similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This app will allow users to chat with xAI’s Grok chatbot on their devices.
Reports suggest that the app will be released after xAI completes its next funding round, which could raise $5 billion and double the company’s value to $50 billion.
Musk has also offered investors who helped him buy Twitter a 25% share in xAI as a reward for their support. So far, xAI has raised $11 billion from investors, including Fidelity, Larry Ellison (Oracle co-founder), and Jack Dorsey (Twitter founder).
