Google is expanding its AI features in Gmail by bringing the Gemini-powered Q&A tool to Android users. This tool allows users to ask questions about their emails, like finding specific details, showing unread messages, or viewing emails from a certain sender.

Google had first announced the connection between its AI model, Gemini, and Gmail earlier this year. The company is now rolling out this feature on Android, with plans to launch it on iOS soon.

“We are excited to help users boost their productivity with Gemini in Gmail,” Google said. “With this update, users can get more done, whether at their desks or on the go.”

The update will be gradually available to Android users over about 15 days. It will be accessible to Google Workspace customers with Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Education Premium subscriptions, as well as Google One AI Premium subscribers.

Google revealed details of this feature at its I/O Conference in May, along with other AI-powered upgrades. The company is continuing its focus on the “Gemini era” with improvements to various products, including AI-enhanced search answers and the AI Magic Editor in the new Pixel 9 smartphone.
