These missiles are designed to destroy Iranian Shahed drones at heights of up to two kilometers. The system uses artificial intelligence for autonomous targeting, making it highly advanced.

“The technology looks promising, and we’ll start testing it in Ukraine in the new year,” said Kusti Salm, CEO of Frankenburg Technologies.

Production will begin slowly, with a few dozen missiles made each week, and is expected to increase to hundreds by late 2025. Testing will help confirm how well the missiles work during real combat situations.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur stressed the importance of helping Ukraine strengthen its military capabilities. Speaking at the Halifax International Security Forum, Pevkur said, “Ukrainians can handle this fight if they get the resources they need.”

The need for these anti-drone missiles is urgent, as Russia continues to use Shahed kamikaze drones against Ukraine. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched 2,576 drones in November, up from 2,023 in October.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has also announced plans to increase drone production, which could mean more frequent attacks on Ukraine.
