The States of Jersey Police are testing artificial intelligence (AI) to help write down what witnesses say in interviews.
Deputy Chief Officer Scott Hall confirmed this during a government meeting on Children, Education, and Home Affairs.
He said the AI is still in trials and follows strict ethical rules. The results so far have been very good.
“We are using the best methods from the UK to make sure it is safe and used the right way,” Mr. Hall explained.
The AI can also learn new words and terms to improve its accuracy.
“We know how important ethics and safety are, so we are following the best practices in the UK,” he added.
