Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is testing a smart vehicle that uses AI to find damage on the roads and check traffic diversions. This vehicle has special tools to collect data about road conditions and ensure traffic diversions follow RTA rules.
The vehicle has cameras, sensors, and other devices to detect damage, create reports, and upload them to the system automatically. This means no human input is needed.
“Right-of-way” means any objects placed on the footpath, curb, or area next to roads with RTA’s permission.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency, said this new system will help find and fix road damage faster, making Dubai’s roads last longer and look better.
