Samsung’s AI Robot Vacuum Closes Gap with Roborock in Korea

Samsung’s new AI-powered robot vacuum cleaner, the Bespoke AI Steam, is quickly closing the market gap with top Chinese brands like Roborock in South Korea. Industry data from August shows Samsung now holds about 35% of the market, catching up to Roborock’s nearly 40% share.

Samsung has made significant gains since April, when it launched the Bespoke AI Steam. This all-in-one vacuum can both vacuum and mop, and its unique high-temperature steam feature kills bacteria without chemicals, which has appealed to families with children and pets. In less than a month, over 10,000 units were sold, pushing Samsung’s market share up significantly.

Meanwhile, Roborock’s share has dropped from around 45% at the start of the year. Other brands, like LG, Ecovacs, and Dreame, each hold about 10% of the Korean market.

Samsung also highlights the security of its robot vacuums, using its Knox security system, certified by global agencies. This focus on security has grown as recent hacking incidents, such as one in the US involving an Ecovacs vacuum, have raised privacy concerns.

Samsung aims to become the top choice for robot vacuums in Korea by the end of the year, driven by its innovative features and growing customer trust.
