A recent study shows that Alife Health’s AI tool, Stim Assist, might help improve in vitro fertilization (IVF) success while using less medication. The study, published in Scientific Reports, involved 291 IVF patients from two clinics in the US. It looked at how Stim Assist helps doctors decide the right dose of hormone medication and the timing of injections during IVF.
The results showed that patients using the AI tool had a slight improvement in the number of mature eggs retrieved and used a little less medication compared to those who didn’t use the tool. While these improvements weren’t statistically significant, the study suggests AI could make IVF more efficient. However, more research is needed to confirm these findings and explore how AI can be better used in IVF.
Stim Assist, launched in 2022, uses data from over 40,000 past cases to guide doctors in choosing the right medication doses to get the most mature eggs during each IVF cycle. This approach could help lower medication costs. Alife also introduced a patient app in 2023 to help with tracking medications, appointments, and insurance details.
Based in San Francisco, Alife raised $22 million in funding in March 2022 and plans to continue studying its products. The company is also working on two more tools: Embryo Assist and Insights, which help monitor clinic performance in real time.
