Army Testing Robot Dogs with AI Guns in the Middle East

The U.S. Army is testing robot dogs equipped with AI-powered guns in the Middle East. These robots are part of a new plan to help soldiers defend against drones. Photos from a recent test in Saudi Arabia show a Ghost Robotics Vision 60 robot dog with a gun turret. This gun can be controlled by artificial intelligence (AI) to track and shoot targets.

These robot dogs are being tested to see how they can help U.S. troops by performing tasks like patrolling and attacking enemy drones. The Army has been using robots for years, but now they are adding weapons to them. For example, they have tested robots with rocket launchers and rifles.

The U.S. isn’t the only country using these technologies. China’s military also showed a robot dog with a rifle in a recent test. Both countries are looking to use these robots to help their soldiers by fighting drones or supporting combat operations.

The goal of using AI-powered weapons is to save money and increase accuracy compared to traditional methods, such as missiles. While these robot dogs are still being tested, they show the future of warfare may involve more robots working alongside human soldiers.
