Dubai schools are to have teachers trained in artificial intelligence (AI).
On Wednesday, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, announced a new program to teach AI to teachers in Dubai. The top 10 teachers who use AI the best in their teaching will win awards totaling Dh1 million at the AI Retreat in April 2025.
This is part of the new Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI).
“Our aim is to create a school system that equips students with future skills and provides an excellent learning environment enabled by AI technology. Investing in education is investing in Dubai’s present and future,” said Sheikh Hamdan. The program will be run by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
Teachers in Dubai will receive world-class training on how to use AI tools that make tasks easier and personalize learning for students. The program will involve practical training as well as online training with regular tests to ensure its effectiveness.
