Google is adding a new AI feature in Gmail for both Android and iOS users, aimed at making email replies faster and more personalized. This feature is available for users on premium plans like Google One AI Premium and Gemini. It improves the current Smart Reply by offering responses that better fit the context of the conversation.
Announced at Google I/O 2024, the new update uses Gemini AI to create replies based on the entire email thread. Instead of basic responses, users get three more personalized reply options, shown in a carousel. These suggestions vary in tone and content, allowing users to choose the one that fits best. Users can also preview a reply before using it by holding down on the suggestion.

For now, this feature is only available to premium subscribers, including those on Google One AI Premium and Gemini plans. It’s currently limited to English, with no updates on support for other languages.
