Google is working on a new feature called “AI Mode” for its search engine. This feature will let users have conversations with AI, similar to the Gemini AI chatbot.
AI Mode will show AI-generated answers alongside regular search results. These results will appear in tabs like “All,” “Images,” and “Videos” and include links to related pages. There will also be an option to ask follow-up questions.
Google has not yet confirmed this development.
This move comes as competition in AI-powered search grows. OpenAI recently made its ChatGPT search available to all users, and Google expanded its AI search summaries to more countries in October 2024.
