Google has launched the stable version of its Gemini 2.0 Flash AI model for all users. This AI model replaces the test version first introduced in December 2024. Now, users can access it on both the web and mobile apps.
When Google first announced the Gemini 2.0 models, it promised better features, including image and audio generation. Now, the tech giant has confirmed that both free and paid users can use the Gemini 2.0 Flash model. However, it is unclear if free users will have any usage limits.
What’s New in Gemini 2.0 Flash?
- Wider Access: The model is now available on the Gemini app, not just the web.
- More Power for Paid Users: Gemini Advanced subscribers get a one million token context window, which can process about 1,500 pages of uploaded files.
- Premium Features: Paid users also get Deep Research, Gems, and other advanced tools.
- Multimodal Output: The model can generate images, text, and multilingual speech.
- Smart Tools: It connects with Google Search, coding tools, and third-party functions via API.
Google claims that Gemini 2.0 Flash outperforms Gemini 1.5 Pro in important AI benchmarks like MMLU, Natural2Code, and advanced Q&A tests. It also supports the latest Imagen 3 model for better image generation.
For now, Gemini 1.5 Flash (free users) and 1.5 Pro (paid users) will remain available for a few more weeks to help users transition smoothly.
