Apple is working on a new AI-powered battery feature for iOS 19 that will help iPhones last longer by learning how users use their devices, according to reports.

The feature, part of Apple’s “Apple Intelligence” system, will adjust power usage based on daily habits. It will also show charging time estimates on the lock screen.

The update is expected in September for all iPhones that support iOS 19.

This move is part of Apple’s push to add more AI into its software. The thinner iPhone 17, rumored to have a smaller battery, may benefit from this tech to keep battery life strong.

Apple is using AI to optimize power for apps and system tasks. While the company hasn’t commented, experts say this helps Apple compete with AI leaders like Google and OpenAI.

Some Apple Intelligence features, like the new Siri, are still delayed. iOS 19 will also include a fresh design called “Solarium” and better iPad-Mac connections.

Apple will likely announce iOS 19 at its WWDC event on June 9, with a full release in fall. A future AI Health app, “Mulberry,” is also in development but won’t launch until 2026.
