Snapchat has introduced a new AI tool that lets creators make videos by simply typing text. This new feature was announced during the Snap Partner Summit. It allows users to type prompts, which are then turned into videos, offering a fun way to create snaps. Eventually, users will be able to add image prompts too.
Snapchat’s AI tool sets it apart from platforms like Instagram, which only has an AI chatbot. Snapchat has also made sure to test this feature for safety, adding icons and watermarks to show when a video is AI-generated. For now, only selected creators can use the tool, but Snapchat plans to make it available to more users soon. Although we haven’t seen examples of videos made with this tool yet, it’s expected to compete with other AI tools like Google’s Veo and OpenAI’s Sora.
