A student from Columbia University, Roy Lee, claims he got internship offers from Amazon, Meta, TikTok, and other tech companies using an AI tool he created. His tool, called Interview Coder, helps candidates pass coding interviews by solving algorithm problems in real time.

Lee shared on social media that he used Interview Coder to secure multiple job offers. He even posted a video showing himself using the tool during an Amazon interview. However, after the video went viral, Amazon sent a complaint to Columbia University, accusing him of cheating and selling the tool to others.

After this, Lee shared an email from Meta stating that his internship offer had been canceled. In response, he said he never intended to work at these companies but wanted to prove that AI could beat coding interviews. His goal, he claimed, was to push companies to stop using LeetCode-style interviews.

The controversy has sparked debate about AI and hiring practices in the tech industry.
