Alibaba’s International Digital Commerce Group is set to introduce an AI-powered assistant in September to help businesses find partners and products more easily.

This new tool will help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) worldwide by making the search for business partners and products faster and simpler. The company announced this in a press release on July 31.

Kuo Zhang, president of Alibaba.com, said that unlike traditional search engines, this new AI-powered tool will offer a more natural way to search. It will quickly and accurately match buyers with sellers based on their history.

The tool will understand everyday language and turn it into professional sourcing requests. It will also gather information from multiple suppliers, allowing businesses to compare options side-by-side.

In addition to improving searches, the AI tool will use data to help close business deals. Alibaba says this technology will reduce costs and help SMBs become key players in the global supply chain.

Alibaba has been using AI to translate for sellers, negotiate refunds, and perform other tasks to support its international expansion. The company has a team of 100 engineers working on these AI tools, with about 500,000 sellers already using them.

In June, Alibaba launched a new marketplace called Alibaba Guaranteed. This platform lets businesses search for products, compare prices, and place orders quickly and easily, aiming to simplify cross-border trade.
