Apple is talking with Google about using Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) in iPhones, as per a report from Bloomberg.

Bloomberg mentions that sources familiar with the matter revealed that the two companies are actively negotiating to incorporate Gemini’s AI into new features for iPhones, which could roll out later this year.

Gemini, a part of Google’s AI tools, includes chatbots and coding assistants. However, it faced issues with its generative AI tools recently.

Apple is reportedly in talks with Google’s Gemini to use its AI in iPhones

Last month, Google had to temporarily halt its image-generation feature due to inaccuracies, like depicting historical figures incorrectly. Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, called these responses “completely unacceptable.”

Bloomberg’s sources also suggest that Apple is in talks with OpenAI to possibly integrate the AI model ChatGPT into its devices. However, no final decisions on terms, branding, or implementation have been made yet.

Rumors speculate that Apple might unveil its latest operating system, iOS 18, for iPhones at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Meanwhile, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, mentioned in February that the company plans to introduce Gen-AI features “later this year.”
