Apple May Charge Up to $20 for Apple Intelligence Features

Apple might ask its users to pay up to $20 for its new advanced AI features, according to analysts. The company is planning to launch its AI system, Apple Intelligence, on some devices later this year to boost its services business.

Apple Intelligence will enhance Siri and include features like automatically creating emails and images. These features will roll out gradually, but some advanced tools might come with a subscription fee, analysts suggest.

Neil Shah, from Counterpoint Research, believes Apple might include these AI features in its Apple One subscription, which currently costs $19.95 per month and offers access to various services like Apple Music.

In the last quarter, Apple’s services division made $24.2 billion, which is unique among hardware companies. Experts say that because Apple has successfully charged for other premium services, it’s possible they’ll do the same with Apple Intelligence.

Apple Intelligence could also lead to a bundled service offering, but the company may avoid combining too many services to protect revenue from individual subscriptions.

Other tech companies, like OpenAI and Microsoft, already charge for their advanced AI tools. Samsung, Apple’s main competitor, is still figuring out how to price its own AI services.

Apple Intelligence might also help the company keep its customers loyal by making its services more personalized. As users interact more with the AI, it learns about them and becomes harder to leave, making it easier for Apple to charge for these advanced features.
