More people are working from home, so there’s a lot of online chatting going on. But watch out! Recent reports say artificial intelligence (AI) might be reading your messages.
Companies like Walmart, Delta, T-Mobile, Chevron and Starbucks are using software from a startup called “Aware” to keep an eye on what employees are saying on messaging apps.
The “Aware” software looks for specific words on platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams. It tries to find keywords that could indicate if employees are unhappy or if there are any safety concerns.
The company says it has already looked at 20 billion messages from more than 3 million workers.
