On Monday, the Worldwide Developers Conference confirmed that iPadOS 18 would introduce a built-in Calculator app for the iPad.
This means that people using an iPad will no longer have to download third-party apps which are saturated with advertisements and designed only for the smaller screens of phones. The new Calculator itself resembles that of the iPhone and is compatible with Apple Pencil so you can write out math problems to be solved.
A calculator has been expected on iPads by some users who called for it for years; this move comes after Apple added a Weather app onto iPads with iPadOS 16 back in 2019.
Here’s what’s new in iPadOS 18:
Smarter Interface: Maximise productivity with floating tab bars as well as
More Control Over SharePlay Sessions: Take control over any session of SharePlay now!
Calculator Math Notes: Use scientific calculations when solving maths by handwriting them directly into your device using an Apple Pencil
