Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced a massive investment in artificial intelligence for 2025. The company plans to spend $65 billion to build a cutting-edge data center powered by over 1.3 million AI GPUs.
This new data center, with a capacity of more than 2 gigawatts, will be one of the largest in the world, covering an area comparable to most of Manhattan, New York City. Meta aims to leverage NVIDIA’s latest AI GPUs to achieve 1 gigawatt of computing power by 2025.
Zuckerberg said:
“2025 will be a key year for AI. We expect Meta AI to serve over 1 billion users, launch Llama 4 as the leading AI model, and develop an AI engineer to contribute more to our research. To support this, we’re building a 2GW+ data center, one of the largest of its kind.”
Meta will also expand its AI workforce while continuing to invest in its AI technology and infrastructure. Zuckerberg added:
“We’re committing $60-65 billion to this effort and growing our AI teams. This investment will drive innovation, enhance our core products, and strengthen America’s position in technology leadership.”
Meta’s ambitious plan highlights its dedication to shaping the future of AI and driving innovation on a global scale.
