Samsung May Build AI TVs with OpenAI’s Help

Samsung is reportedly exploring a partnership with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, to create AI-powered smart TVs. This move comes as Google TV prepares to launch its Gemini era, introducing AI chatbots to smart TVs. Samsung aims to stay competitive in the TV market and maintain its lead over other brands, including low-cost Chinese manufacturers.

Samsung’s TVs use TizenOS, not Fire TV or Android TV. The company has already introduced AI features like Click to Search, Live Translate, and Vision AI for SmartThings integration. However, these features may not be enough to hold its position in the smart TV market.

According to reports, Samsung is forming an “open partnership” with OpenAI to use ChatGPT’s technology in its TVs. This could enhance search capabilities and bring new, innovative features. However, the partnership is not finalized, as financial terms are still under discussion.

By integrating AI, Samsung can offer more advanced voice controls and personalized TV experiences, keeping pace with Google’s AI advancements in Gemini.
