The app has drawn global attention, with experts in Silicon Valley impressed by how DeepSeek achieved such success using less powerful chips than its competitors.
Silicon Valley venture capitalist Marc Andreessen called DeepSeek-R1 one of the most impressive AI breakthroughs he has ever seen. Barrett Woodside, co-founder of AI hardware company Positron, praised DeepSeek’s open-source approach, which makes its software freely available.
