Meta has started to release its AI chatbot, Meta AI assistant, to users in India. This AI assistant will be available through Meta’s applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Users can also access it via the Meta.AI website.
Meta had introduced Meta AI over two months ago and made it available in countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. However, India was not included in the initial launch, possibly because of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
With Meta AI, users can perform searches on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. It will also provide insights while users scroll through posts on Facebook. The AI assistant offers real-time search results from Microsoft and Google, which can be useful for planning trips or finding the best routes. Meta AI can handle tasks like writing emails, creating poems, summarizing text, translating languages, and creating images and GIFs within chat windows.
One unique feature of Meta AI is its integration directly into popular apps like WhatsApp and Messenger, so users do not need to switch to another app for AI assistance.
While Meta AI is supposed to start rolling out today, some users may not find it available on their devices yet. The Meta AI website also indicates that it may not be available in all countries immediately, suggesting a phased rollout.
